Lukáš Berberich went to Bilbao for two weeks residency

Lukáš Berberich is a cultural manager, music promoter and - above all - a film lover. As a student he and his friends set up and ran the now legendary art house cinema, Cinefil, in Košice, where he also worked as film programmer. He worked as music programmer at the IC Culture train and Kasárne/Kulturpark arts venues in Košice and as events manager for the Vice magazine in Prague.

Having lived and worked in London and Prague, he returned to Košice in 2010 to work at the independent arts and culture venue Tabačka Kulturfabrik. As Tabačka's Head of Programme he has been pivotal in shaping the development of the centre and the role it came to play in the life of the city. He cofounded and co-runs the independent music label Exitab. He is the Art Director of the Moonride festival of contemporary arts and is in charge of music programming for the POKE music festival. He also works free-lance with various film, theatre, music and visual arts projects locally and internationally. He currently leads the project of Kino Úsmev – restoration of an old cinema to an modern Centre for audiovisual culture in historical centre of Kosice.
