About

EIT Culture & Creativity – we turn the innovation of Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries into societal impact by facilitating long term partnerships with a purpose.

EIT Culture & Creativity (EIT CC) is a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Its purpose is to help all players in the European Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI) to turn innovation into societal impact.

By fostering interdisciplinary and cross-sectorial collaboration for stakeholders from education, innovation, research, business and culture, EIT CC provides new connections and unique opportunities from its European innovation community across 15 sectors and 30 nations.

EIT CC´s vision is to fundamentally change the CCSI towards new understandings of competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable economic growth.

Goals

EIT CC empowers businesses, universities, research organizations, cultural institutions, NGOs or cities and regions through its supporting, annual co-financing programs and open calls, for example by:

  • support for universities launching innovative higher education initiatives or organizations offering innovative professional training,
  • support for both private companies and public institutions bringing new products and services to market,
  • incubating start-ups or scaling organizations to compete in global markets.

From 2024-2027, EIT CC focuses on Architecture, Audio-Visual Media, Cultural Heritage, Fashion, and Gaming.

Partnership

In addition, EIT CC offers tailored access to public and private capital, talents and markets as well as cities and regions to leverage and multiply the impact of the CCSI.

In contrast to many funding programmes, EIT CC looks for long-term partnerships beyond the funding period to implement commercially successful innovations in markets, and to generate revenue as well as long-term impacts.

For its partners, EIT Culture & Creativity offers a unique value-added that one alone cannot attained otherwise, for example, through its innovation ecosystem, services in markets, early insights in policy, and thought leadership.

Co-Loction Centres

Our six regional Co-Location Centres in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bologna, Helsinki, Kosice, and Vienna unite stakeholders from culture, education, business, and research to drive tangible change locally. Together, we shorten the time from innovation to market uptake and strengthen competitiveness and growth of the European Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries.
