We already hosted two conferences about creative industries in Košice. It focused on current themes of placemaking and urban development, which are driven by cultural and creative efforts. We also discuss economic and social development, branding, marketing and tourism. Based on case studies, it was established that culture and creativity are essential elements of urban development and business potential.
The topics of the conference were presented and discussed by leading international experts from England, Ukraine, Poland, Canada, Austria, America, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Slovenia. They looked for answers to questions such as how can design and creativity help business, how artistic and cultural events collectively create the image of a city, or how cultural centres can influence business, commerce, or decision-making in cities.
The two-day conferences were accompanied by additional activities, a series of workshops, discussions, city tours, expert meetings with the general public and a presentation of local products and goods.
