Migration is a widespread and well-known topic in our global context. This frequently discussed phenomenon brings about new opportunities, self-growth but also fear of the unknown. A brand-new performance/installation Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Smuggler) based on the famous humorist novel by Jerome K. Jerome will challenge your opinions about the situation of migration worldwide.
The author of the piece is a Bulgarian media artist Petko Dourmana who worked on the performance during his residential stay in the Netherlands for the Borderline Offensive project. Three migrants and a smuggler sail through the waters of the Greek river Evros – one of Europe’s most dangerous smuggling routes. The performance will be special for another reason – 9 spectators will watch Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Smuggler) with NVDs (night vision devices) in the dark without being seen. Get your calendar, Kasárne/Kulturpark will host this extraordinary art piece during the festival Art & Tech Days 2019 on the 20th November, 6 PM.
